Pre-session planning
Once your session date is booked, we'll connect to plan your session details. We'll discuss location, outfits, and how you want your session to feel. I'll guide you through what to expect, and we will work together to create a session that feels personal and authentic to you and your family.
STEP 04
Picture Day
On session day, your only job is to just be there and be yourselves! It can sometimes feel a little intimidating having a camera in your face, so I'll first spend a little time getting to know your family to ensure everyone feels comfortable. During the session, there's no need for stiff poses or awkward forced smiles. I will gently direct along the way, while also documenting your family as you are. Relax, have fun, and enjoy the time together.

Delivering photos
Once your photos are ready, you'll receive a private gallery link via email to view your custom-edited images.

Do you travel for photoshoots?
I do! Travel fees may apply for locations outside of the Sacramento area.
Do you have location recommendations?
While I do have a list of beautiful locations we can use, I typically encourage sessions either in your home or at a place that holds special significance for you and your family. Those sessions always feel so much more personal and true to your story.
How many images will I receive?
Full sessions yield a minimum of 50 fully edited images. Petite sessions yield up to 20 images.
How long does it take to receive my images?
I generally aim to deliver galleries within 4 weeks, however this timeframe may vary. I believe that good art takes time, and I prefer not to rush when creating something so meaningful.
What if my kids don't cooperate?
My sessions are designed around real life, not perfection. Kids are naturally unpredictable (especially so on picture day), and that's ok! Some of the most meaningful images come from moments that feel like complete chaos.
With 4 kids of my own and nearly 2 decades of family photography experience, you can trust that I have had to navigate a variety of situations. The best thing you can do is stay calm, be present, and let me handle the rest.
I have no idea what to wear. Can you help with that?
Absolutely. Outfit consultation is included as part of your personalized pre-session planning when requested. Together, we'll choose pieces that photograph beautifully while still feeling like you.
